How to Backup Smart TV Software – Smart TV Guide

Prerequisites & Tools Needed
RT809H / UFPI programmer, soldering station, test leads, or root ADB access.
⚠ Safety & Operating Precautions
Incorrect ISP wiring (VCC, VCCQ, CLK, CMD, D0) or ground loop shorts can permanently damage the TV's processor.
Creating a raw binary backup before undertaking software modifications or hardware board repairs provides a fallback if the bootloader becomes corrupted.
Methods for Software Extraction:
- Hardware Programmer (RT809H / UFPI via ISP): Connect ground, clock (CLK), command (CMD), and data line 0 (D0). Read full raw user area, BOOT1, BOOT2, and EXT_CSD partitions.
- UART Serial Console Extraction: Connect USB-TTL converter to mainboard RX/TX pins. Interrupt boot sequence in U-Boot shell and execute memory dump commands to USB.
- Root ADB Shell (Working TVs): Execute
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/storage/usbotg/backup.imgto capture the physical partition image.
